Great news!!

We have now extended our Saturday open gym hours from 10am-6pm! Not only that, we have now opened our doors every Sunday 10am-6pm for more open gym training!

No need to book, just turn up!

As announced, we are currently in the middle of moving to a bigger facility. We will now have space for external trainers to work from.

We are looking for group class instructors who currently have their own client base and need somewhere to run their classes from as well as personal trainers looking for a facility to work from.

We are now pleased to offer sports/deep tissue massage at Muscle Up Gym performed by coach Kuba.

This is a form of manual therapy which is suitable for a wide range of people, not just active sports people, or those in training but also those who have stress and soreness from busy daily activities. It is extremely effective in loosening tight muscles and breaking up adhesions or knots in muscle fibres. It is based on the philosophy that direct techniques can reduce pain, enhance healing and restore and/or maintain optimum muscle function.

The techniques used by Kuba will be tailored to you,  your activities, symptoms and preferences. Your treatment may include:

  • Deep tissue massage
  • Stretching
  • FAT Tool (Fascial Abrasion Technique Tool)
  • Soft tissue release

This therapy is ideal for the active or sports person and can be incorporated into part of your long term training programme. It can reduce soreness, and help improve your physical performance and flexibility. It aids in the healing of sprains and injuries and can help your recovery following a sporting event.

This is also perfectly suited to treat muscle pain and soreness suffered by those in an office environment, sitting in the same position for long periods or carrying out repetitive tasks. It can loosen areas of stiffness and revitalise aching limbs.

We have a new class “Combat Fundamentals” launching on Wednesday 4th May. This class will take place at 7.30pm and will cover the fundamental basics of combat sports. This will include various aspects of MMA like boxing, muay thai, taekwondo, wrestling, bjj and more.

This will be taught by owner and pro MMA athlete Owen Gayle, a great class for those looking to learn the basics of martial arts in a non-ego environment.

After this 1 hour class will follow our regular 45 minute combat conditioning class, fusing martial arts and bodyweight exercises in a circuit training format!

After a very patient wait we can finally announce that our Movement For Kids class and Freerunning For Teens class are now ready to launch starting half-term Monday 15th February 2016! This will then be ongoing weekly classes!

MOVEMENT FOR KIDS

  • Monday: 5.15pm-6.00pm (ages 5-8)
  • Tuesday: 5.15pm-6.00pm (ages 9-12)
  • Wednesday: 5.15pm-6.00pm (ages 5-8)
  • Thursday: 5.15pm-6.00pm (ages 9-12)

These classes will incorporate various forms of movement including calisthenics, gymnastics and freerunning/parkour. We also include fun and entertaining games to improve skills and attributes including strength, fitness, flexibility, mobility, coordination, agility, reactions, balance, proprioception and spatial awareness.

FREERUNNING FOR TEENS

  • Tuesday: 6pm-7pm (ages 13-17)
  • Saturday: 10am-1pm (ages 13-17) – Unstructured Freestyle Session

This class will incorporate various forms of movement based around freerunning/parkour and floor acrobatics!
